Charcoal Player — Privacy Policy

Effective: July 2026

Charcoal Player collects no data.

No collection, no tracking

There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The app runs completely on your Mac.

Your content stays on your device

Your audio files, library, folder permissions (security-scoped bookmarks), playback positions, loops, and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to the developer.

Optional model downloads

The sound-separation feature downloads its on-device processing models (with your consent) via an anonymous HTTPS GET from the developer's content host. No account, cookies, or identifiers are sent, and the host stores no request logs. Downloads are integrity-checked (SHA-256) and used only on your device.

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable sync, it uses your own Apple iCloud infrastructure directly. Data never passes through a developer server, and the developer cannot see it.

Payments

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The developer never receives or stores your payment details.

No third-party sharing

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to share, sell, or disclose to third parties.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted in this repository with a new effective date. Questions: contact the developer via the App Store product page for Charcoal Player.
