slplayer — Privacy Policy

Effective: September 13, 2026

slplayer collects no data.

No collection, no tracking

There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The app has no account system and runs entirely on your Mac.

Your content stays on your device

Your video and subtitle files, recent items, playlists and folders, playback positions, per-file settings (speed, subtitle choice, sync), and folder permissions (security-scoped bookmarks) are stored only on your device and are never sent to the developer.

Local playback server

To play MKV files, slplayer converts them on the fly into a stream served from a loopback address (127.0.0.1) inside the app's sandbox so that the system media engine can play them. This traffic never leaves your Mac. Apart from the App Store purchase flow described below, the app makes no network requests of its own.

Free trial

The 7-day trial of Pro features is managed by the app itself. It stores only a start timestamp in the device Keychain, which is not synced and not sent anywhere. No payment details are collected to start the trial.

Payments

slplayer Pro is an auto-renewing Monthly or Yearly subscription. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit; prices are shown before purchase in your local currency and billed to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period and can be managed or cancelled in System Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. The developer never receives or stores your payment information.

No third-party sharing

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to share, sell, or disclose to third parties.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted in this repository with a new effective date. Questions: setlog.net/support or the App Store product page for slplayer.
